Fake It Till You Make It

Daily_philoSophies_2007_6_20.jpgAnother sound bit of advice from our friend Sophie. This goes out to all of us who are just starting in a new job or internship this summer. Being the low-woman on the totem pole is tough at times, especially when you feel like you might not have too much to offer in your current role.

Learning curves and questions are simply part of making it in the working world.

When in doubt:

  1. Act with confidence.
  2. Be humble.
  3. Offer to go the extra mile and come in early and stay late to help out
  4. Ask smart questions after you’ve done your research
  5. Credit your team for successes before you take the glory as your own (even if the killer approach or project was your idea)

Dream big and you’ll be amazed at how far you go!
