Remembering 9/11: We Continue to Grow
Where were you when you heard the news? It’s strange how even the smallest details have been burned into memory and are now forever linked to the day that our nation was attacked.
I was in an art history lecture and was so confused at first when my professor delivered the somber news. Class was cancelled abruptly, and I left in a daze, wondering if some way, some how it could be a mistake or a joke… Then the panic sunk in. I have family in New York. My friends. Could any of them have been close to Ground Zero? In the Towers?
Phone lines were jammed with friends and relatives trying to find answers to the same types of questions that fly through one’s mind in times like that.
Today, we remember 9/11 and the tremendous sacrifices that were made that day and the men and women of our country who showed each of us what being a hero really means.
Fame!
