In recognition of the invaluable experiences, friendships and leadership opportunities unique to Panhellenic involvement, ChickSpeak.com is pleased to launch its newest content section: Greek Life.

The Greek Life Section on ChickSpeak.com would like to serve as a supporting advocate for The National Panhellenic Conference Foundation, its members, member groups, college and alumnae panhellenics and will serve as an additional proponent of women’s sorority membership. Mindful of the mission and expressed values of the National Panhellenic Conference and the sororities that it represents, the Greek Life section will strive to be a highly positive public relations platform and information resource for current and future members.

ChickSpeak.com will highlight and celebrate Panhellenic and Sorority successes through several initial categories and channels:

Sorority Spotlight: This feature will seek out and highlight exceptional chapters each month. Chapters must, in tangible ways, have demonstrated overall excellence in adherence to the sororities mission and values. ChickSpeak.com will look for accomplishments in the areas of, but not limited to: collective academic excellence, percentage of sisters in good standing, level of philanthropic contributions and awareness raised, and the chapter’s demonstrated contributions to their campus and local communities. Positive points Chapters are encouraged to specify are accomplishments in the areas of leadership, recruitment, risk management and also in some cases, areas of marked improvement. Nominations are accepted and encouraged year-round. Chapters chosen will be featured on the main page of ChickSpeak.com, spotlighted as the featured Chapter for the month and will be further recognized in ChickSpeak.com’s national newsletters that reach young women in high schools, colleges and recent graduates.

Shining Sister: This feature will seek out and celebrate individual sisters in good standing who are “shining stars” in their chapters and communities. Candidates for this feature should demonstrate leadership, academic strength, and significant contributions to the sorority’s philanthropic efforts. Additional points of consideration are areas in which this young woman has faced challenge or adversity, been a support or inspiration to others, or done something that has made a positive impact in ways beyond her own social circles. Shining Sisters will be chosen based on nominations and chapter support. Women featured in this column will be main stories on ChickSpeak.com and will be highlighted in the national newsletter.

Unsung Heroine: This feature exists to recognize the dedicated and exceptional Panhellenic advisors, House Mothers and/ or volunteers that support each Chapter and help to provide the environments and support necessary for positive sorority experiences. This section will feature someone each month. Criteria for being recognized as the Unsung Heroine consists of the following: commitment to the success of the chapter in upholding the expressed values and mission of the sorority and The National Panhellenic Conference Foundation. Demonstrated wisdom and/ or support through challenging situations or areas of growth in the chapter, and demonstrated positive and accessible spirit in both attitude and actions.
