Home For The Holidays: Moi’s Advice on Dealing with The Fam
Darlings Itty can’t believe she is writing to you on the very eve of her most favorite holiday.
Moi is a true fan of turkey day and loves the meal more than anything, even her most recent gorgeous purchase of a new Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress, which Moi plans to wear to Thanksgiving dinner because she can adjust the belt as her belly expands.
Darlings some of us may be heading from one stressful place to another.
School can be busy and muchas amounts of work at this time in the semester, mid terms, papers, quizzes all are enough to give a girl a bit of a head spin. Add to that a visit to the old homestead where things aren’t always calm.
Do vous need to be reminded of grandma-ma and how she will surely notice that vous has added a the freshman 15 to vous tiny little body? And who can sleep with dear brother blasting his music the way he does? We’ve only been away from home for a few months but reentering that old universe, as exciting as it may be can sometimes cause a little stress.
Here are a few tips that Itty wants to offer to soothe Moi’s sweet dears’ souls and make the transition all the more pleasant.
- Remember Nothing has Changed- Life has gone on just as planned while vous were away. Daddy dear still drank his morning coffee black with eight sugars and Mother Darling will still make a fuss when vous shower and leave vous long locks in the drain. Remind vous self of the rules that were there when vous left. Parents will still expect them to exist when vous rest vous pretty head on vous old pillow. Remember it will be a few days and vous will be back to party central and can do whatever vous pleases. For now keep the peace and play by the house rules.
- They Really Do Love Vous- From Auntie Loud Mouth to Grand Daddy to old family friends everyone is going to want to know what vous been up to. They will comment on vous major and dissect vous dating life. This is how they show that they love vous. They are showing interest. Tell them what you wish. Hold back what vous needs to feel comfortable. And take only half their advice. Remember anything they offer is coming from a good place.
- Close Vous Door- If vous are lucky enough to be going home to a room of vous own cherish every second of it. With all the pluses and perks of dorm life, privacy isn’t one of them. Take a few down time moments. Whether it is to draw a long bath, light some candles and listen to music while vous little brother bangs on the bathroom door, be sure to take a few moments of down time for Moi. The repairs that this will do for the soul will truly get vous through anything.
Happy Thanksgiving Moi’s most Petite Pumpkin Pies!!
Am counting on vous to eat extra much on Thursday and then walk/spin/run/dance/laugh/shop extra hard on Friday to alleviate any and all guilt
Xoxo
