Apple has been working with Twentieth Century Fox in order to release digital movies for sale on their popular site.   News Corps Twentieth Century Fox is the first movie studio who has agreed to let its films be available for purchase and viewing on iTunes.  Apple has created a technology and copy protection platform called FairPlay, which would enable users to easily download media and copy it onto DVD’s once is it purchased.

According to Jupiter Research VP, Michael Gartenberg, Apple has been in talks with other studios this past year in addition to Fox and as Gartenberg notes, ”iPod is the most important media player right now, and if you are one of the big studios you are going to want to play with apple here.”

iTunes popularity would garner it a very popular media outlet for the new easier-to-access digital movie technology.  So bottom line: No more running out to Blockbuster in your PJ’s ladies, as you can now bring the latest movies into your home within seconds!
