Live Your Life with Passion: Thank You Dr. Randy Pausch

RandyPausch.JPGWhat would you say if you knew you could give one last speech or have one final conversation before you were to die?

Started as a tradition of retiring professors at Carnegie Mellon, the “last lecture” is supposed to be based on the above hypothetical notion and raises such philosophical questions as: What do you share with others before your time on earth is up? What matters most? What wisdom would you want to impart?

The twist in this case is that one professor really is dying. Dr. Randy Pausch has advanced pancreatic cancer and has come to a point where his doctors say that he will die. In better shape, physically and emotionally than many “healthy” people, Dr. Pausch gave his final lecture to a room filled with students and faculty and focused on the importance of childhood dreams, forgiveness, and living life- each day- with joy and passion.

The video of the now-infamous last lecture has swept the Internet and even has Oprah taking notice and devoting an entire show to this man’s life and lessons learned. We heard about Dr. Randy Pausch’s incredibly moving and inspiring lecture not once, but three times in conversation and through an apparent avalanche of email forwards. Needless to say, we had to stop and take notice.

With all of the talk about this man and his fate, his faith and courage, we knew we had to share this video with each of you. Watch the video here on StumbleUpon.

Dr. Pausch, thank you for using your voice and heart to remind us of what a gift each day truly is. Thank you for inspiring us to live a bold and passionate life, and to follow our dreams with conviction and humility.

We are keeping you in our hearts and prayers.
